Pressure Testing & QA Inspection
CCR Plascon operates a dedicated IBC and drum testing facility at our Bassendean premises, providing independent pressure testing and quality assurance inspection for containers prior to sale, re-use or dangerous goods certification. Every reconditioned IBC and drum supplied by CCR Plascon passes through this testing programme as a mandatory step in our release process.
Our testing procedures are aligned with industry standards and ADG Edition 7 requirements, giving customers confidence that containers are structurally sound, leak-free and fit for their intended application.
Testing Services
- Pressure Testing — hydrostatic pressure test to verify the structural integrity of the inner bottle and confirm leak-free performance under operating conditions
- QA Inspection — comprehensive visual and functional inspection of the complete IBC assembly including bottle, cage, pallet base, valve and closures
- Valve & Seal Check — inspection and testing of outlet valve, camlock fittings, gaskets and top fill cap seals for wear, damage and correct operation
- Grading A–D — classification of reconditioned IBCs by condition: Grade A (excellent, near-new appearance), Grade B (good, minor cosmetic wear), Grade C (serviceable, visible use), Grade D (economy, functional with significant cosmetic wear)
- DG Certification — dangerous goods re-certification for IBCs and drums intended for hazardous bulk liquid transport under ADG Edition 7

Why Testing Matters
Regular pressure testing and inspection is essential for maintaining the safety and compliance of IBC fleets. Structural fatigue, valve wear and seal degradation can compromise container integrity over time — particularly for units handling dangerous goods. CCR Plascon’s testing service helps operators identify units requiring repair or retirement before they become a safety or compliance risk.
Testing is included as standard in our IBC laundering service, or can be arranged as a standalone service for customer-owned containers. Contact us on 08 6270 4560 to book testing or discuss fleet inspection programmes.
